Commodtes Declined as ECB Easing Getting More Likely
Commodities slumped on a strong USD which was in turn driven by a decline in the euro. Mixed Eurozone economic data, as well as comments from an ECB executive member in Tokyo, reinforced expectations that further easing would be unrolled in June. The front-month contract for WTI crude oil prices plummeted to a 5-day low of 102.64 before ending the day at 102.72, down -1.34%, while the Brent crude contract -0.19%.
