Japan Falls to Recession, 3Q14 GDP Data Shows
The latest GDP data suggested that Japan is technically in recession as the 3Q14 GDP unexpectedly contracted an annualised 1.6%, following a -7.3% contraction in the second quarter. Despite market expectations of a mild growth, the headline GDP showed a -0.4% q/q decline, after a -1.9% contraction in 2Q14.
