Total crude oil and petroleum products stocks increased for a 13th week in the week ended August 27 but the gain was only mild compared with previous weeks. Surprisingly, all of crude, gasoline and distillate inventories declined. Crude oil inventory dropped -1.85 mmb to 359.85 mmb as 4 of the 5 districts recorded draws. Cushing stock dropped for a 5th week, by -0.22 mmb, to 35.54 mmb. Utilization rate increased for the first time in 3 weeks, rising to 88.2%, the highest level since July 30.<\/p>\n
