Precious metals climbed in European session with gold rising edging higher to 1508 and silver to 45.5. Although silver's selloff yesterday helped the gold\/silver ratio recover to 33 (from 32 on Monday), it has stayed at the lowest level in 28 years. A reason for elevated silver price was strong physical demand, especially from emerging markets. India may double its silver purchases to 1500 tons this year. While reserve managers in China usually use gold to diversify the exposure in USD, investment in silver may increase.<\/p>\n
