Financial markets mixed, Asian stocks fluctuated between gains and losses, oil prices weakened and gold advanced further on safe-haven demand. The Brent crude contract for September delivery slipped to as low as 116.75 before bouncing back to 117.10. The contract settled at 117.26 last Friday. The equivalent WTI crude moved sideways but with a soft tone.
