{"id":2687,"date":"2010-01-28T15:25:08","date_gmt":"2010-01-28T14:25:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bontrade.org\/blog49\/?p=2687"},"modified":"2010-01-28T15:25:08","modified_gmt":"2010-01-28T14:25:08","slug":"underlying-confidence-in-the-euro-zone-economy-remained-weak","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bontrade.org\/blog49\/2687\/underlying-confidence-in-the-euro-zone-economy-remained-weak\/","title":{"rendered":"Underlying confidence in the Euro-zone economy remained weak"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>EUR\/USD<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The Euro was unable to push back<br \/>\nabove the 1.41 level against the US dollar on Wednesday and<br \/>\nremained generally on the defensive during the day.<\/p>\n<p>Underlying confidence in the<br \/>\nEuro-zone economy remained weak with further unease over the debt<br \/>\nsituation within Greece and further speculation that pressures<br \/>\ncould spread to other countries with some rumours of a forthcoming<br \/>\ndebt-rating downgrade for Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>The US housing data was again weaker<br \/>\nthan expected with new home sales declining to an annual rate of<br \/>\n342,000 for December following a revised figure of 370,000 the<br \/>\nprevious month. There was evidence that sales demand triggered by<br \/>\ntax credits was fading which tended to undermine overall sales and<br \/>\nwill reinforce doubts over the economy.<\/p>\n<p>As expected, the Federal Reserve<br \/>\nleft interest rates in the 0.00 - 0.2\u2026<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/feeds.feedburner.com\/~r\/SecretsoftraderscomMasterFeed\/~4\/yEoLh8h7BWk\" height=\"1\" width=\"1\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EUR\/USD The Euro was unable to push back above the 1.41 level against the US dollar on Wednesday and remained generally on the defensive during the day.
