The Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines seeks a Trader to perform the analytics, portfolio management, and execution for a variety of products, including but not limited to short and long-term investments, short and long-term debt, and interest rate derivative products, all of which are utilized in managing the Bank\u2019s liquidity, funding, and leverage. The focus for this individual will be to establish and maintain a comprehensive awareness and functional understanding of the market factors related to these products (i.e., supply, demand, price, relative value, volatility, etc.) and the internal factors related to these products (i.e., regulations and Bank policies, accounting requirements, system capabilities\/limitations, etc.). The incumbent will participate in the research, design and implementation of new financial products and in the development of trading or hedging strategies. This will require consulting with broker dealers and other financial institutions engaged in trading, hedging, and investing for financial markets products. <\/p>\n

Requirements <\/p>\n

Degree in finance, mathematics, or economics (Advanced degree preferred)
5 – 7 years of experience in a trading environment dealing with complex financial instruments and derivatives
Strong problem solving, analytical and computer skills in Access, Excel and Word
Flexibility
Collaborative
Team Player
Energetic
Excellent communication and presentation skills <\/p>\n
