WTI-Brent Widens Markedly on Cushing Stock-Build, Cold Weather in Europe
Investors remained cautious ahead of US payroll data. The US dollar continued to climb higher while gold extended weakness for a 4th consecutive day. The benchmark Comex contract plunged below 1360 for the first time since November 29 while silver slipped to a 1-month low of 28.325. Oil prices were mixed. The front-month contract for WTI crude oil rebounded after finding support above 88 but that for Brent crude weakened further to 93.7.
