Distillate Inventory Unexpectedly Increased

Total crude oil and petroleum products stocks rose +3.18 mmb to 1078.08 mmb in the week ended February 4. Crude oil inventory added +1.90 mmb to 345.06 mmb. This was the 4th consecutive weekly increase in crude inventory. While Midwest, Gulf Coast and Rocky Mountain recorded inventory draws, stock-builds were seen in East Coast and West Coast. Cushing stocks dropped for the first time in 3 weeks. Utilization rate climbed +0.2% to 84.7%.
