Crude and Distillate Inventories Gained More than Expected
Total crude oil and petroleum products stocks declined -5.12 mmb to 1039.69 mmb in the week ended March 11. This is the 5th consecutive week of drop but the magnitude shrank modestly. Crude stockpile rose +1.75 mmb to 350.64 mmb during the week. Stock-builds found in Gulf Coast and West Coast were partly offset by draws in East Coast, Midwest and Rocky Mountain. Cushing stock also fell for the first time in 3 weeks. Utilization rate climbed +1.4% to 83.4%.
