Sentiment Returns amid Rising Optimism on Approval of Greek Austerity, Upbeat US Data
Market sentiment returned ahead of the Greek austerity vote later today. Judging from narrowed peripheral debt spreads, investors have turned more optimistic that the Greek parliament will pass the austerity plan which is needed to secure funding from the EU/IMF. Adding to increased risk appetite was some encouraging US economic data. The S&P/Case-Shiller property index, the Richmond Fed manufacturing index and the ICSC sales data also rose solidly.
