Gold Remains Above 1600 amid Concerns that Cyprus' Levy Would Set Precedence

Gold continued to trade above 1600 after yesterday’s rally. Besides gold, demand for USD and US treasury also increased. Safe haven demand was driven up the Cyprus bailout plan in which the stability levy raised concerns. The oil benchmarks continued to move in different directions.
