Gold Demand Largely Flat in 1Q14. Declines Seen in China and India

In the latest report from the World Gold Council, world demand for the yellow metal was at 1 074.5 metric tons in 1Q14, largely unchanged from the same period last year. Growth in jewelry demand was modest, offsetting reduction in technology demand and official buying (central bank).
