Gold Demonstrates More Positive Outlook in 2H14

Gold recovered modestly in European session as buying interests emerged above 1300. Performance of the yellow metal has been encouraging so far this year despite bearish expectations. The latest report by the World Gold Council unveiled that gold outperformed most asset classes in 1H14. With +9.2% gains in the first 6 months of the year, only selected commodities such as grains, nickel and palladium, Indian stocks and US REITs performed better than gold during the period.
