Market sentiment weakened as disappointing US data added to concerns over selloff of oil prices and slowdown in global economic growth. Wall Street opened the day in green but gains were soon erased and the selloff exacerbated in the midday. The DJIA dropped -0.74% while S&P 500 fell -0.89% at close. Crude oil prices extended another leg of fall with the front-month WTI contract plunging to as low as US$47.55/bbl before ending the day at US$47.93/bbl, down -4.22%.
