European shares rose as speculations that the ECB would extend asset purchases intensified. The Stoxx600 index gained +1.4%, against Wall Street’s decline. In the commodity sector, Brent crude slumped with the front-month contract plunged to as low as 45.19 before ending the day at 46.59, down -1.77%.
