Gold slumped as USD and Wall Street climbed higher. The sharp fall in US jobless claims and the relatively hawkish FOMC statement (compared with other major central banks) lifted confidence over US’ growth outlook. The benchmark Comex gold contract initially plunged to a 2-week low of 1251 before ending the day at 1254.6, down -2.43%.
