Energy Prices Supported as IEA Upgraded Demand Outlook

Energy prices managed to climb higher, on the back of a bullish IEA report, whilst market sentiment was a tad weaker elsewhere. The front-month WTI contract initially rose to 47.02, the highest level so far this year and since November 2015, before ending the day at 46.7, up +1.02%. The Brent contract extended gain to a 2 week high of 48.19 before settling at 48.08, up +1.01%. Fuel prices were mixed with heating oil slipping -0.19% and gasoline edging +0.11% higher.
