Commodities Boosted as US' Recession Ends
Crude oil price rose for the first time in 5 days on equities’ strength. WTI crude oil for October delivery recorded its biggest one-day gain since September 10 and settled at 74.86, up +1.60%. M&A news and NBER’s comment that a trough in business activity occurred in the US economy in June 2009 boosted market sentiment. These upstaged the weaker-than-expected housing market index.
