Japan Remains in Focus. FOMC More Upbeat on US Outlook

Aftermath of Japan's earthquake continued to dominate the headlines and affected performance of financial markets. Wall Street and European stocks fell initially but recovery then emerged after Fed's upbeat comments on US economic outlook. DJIA and S&P 500 slipped -1.15% and -1.12% respectively while falls in European benchmarks ranged from 1.30% to 3.20%. In Asian session today, Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average rebounded more than +4% after nose-diving yesterday. Other benchmarks in the region also climbed higher.
