Risk Appetite Returns as Data Improves

Financial markets rallied as risk appetite returned after encouraging US macroeconomic and earnings data. Bullish sentiment carried on in Asian session today. Yesterday, Wall Street soared with DJIA and S&P 500 Index gaining +1.52% and +1.35%, respectively. In the commodity sector, oil surged with the front-month contract for WTI crude oil price jumping +2.93% and the equivalent Brent contract gaining +2.07%. Escalated tensions in Bahrain bolstered oil bets in general while an unexpected decline in US crude inventory sent Nymex futures higher in particular.
