Financial markets slumped in US session amid the bankruptcy of MF Global Holdings which filed for bankruptcy protection and was ordered by the CFTC to preserve records for the review. New EU measures announced last week were quickly overshadowed by the issue in Greece. As we mentioned in the previous article, the Greek Prime Minister George Papandreou announced a referendum on the new European agreement and a vote of confidence on the government in the Greek parliament in coming days. The result of a loss of the referendum would be prolonging the problems in the region.
