Germany Rejects Greece's Loan Extension Proposal

Greece has submitted a formal request for a loan extension to the Eurogroup but it has received outright rejection by the German finance ministry. According to spokesman Martin Jaeger, the proposal "doesn't meet the criteria agreed upon in the Eurogroup on Monday" and "it aims at bridge financing without meeting the requirements" of the bailout.
