Decline in Fuel Stockpiles Sent Energy Prices Higher
Decline in gasoline and distillate inventories lifted energy prices. Both crude oil benchmarks rose with the WTI contract extending gains for a third consecutive day and ending the day +0.88% higher. The Brent contract added +3.43%,reverting the -4% loss in the prior day. Price has continued hovering around the recent trading range below 36.25. Wall Street pared early losses and ended the day modestly higher.
