Our client, a top performing asset manager in Fairfield County, CT, seeks a portfolio accounting manager to drive process improvement and lead a portfolio accountant team responsible for pricing, valuations and NAVs, monthly reconciliations, calculation of performance and client reporting. The portfolio accounting manager will identify areas for process improvement, develop solutions and oversee the prioritization and implementation of those solutions. The portfolio accounting manager will take ownership of the portfolio accounting metrics by reviewing and creating metrics to identify problems and provide transparency. The portfolio accounting manager should have strong leadership skills who enjoys mentoring and bringing out the best in staff performance. Requirements BS from a competitive school with strong GPA; Masters preferred
CPA
8+ years relevant accounting experience (portfolio accounting, fund accounting, partnership accounting, reconciliation/valuation expertise, or CPA out of a Fund Administrator).
Experience managing a staff of at least 10 individuals. Experience creating staff performance metrics, evaluating staff performance, hiring.
Extensive experience evaluating accounting processes and procedures, creating controls.
Strong communication and leadership skills
