Prestigious Global Trading Firm, located in the Chicago Loop, is currently seeking a Trading Applications Engineer. Candidate will work with a team that builds, monitors, configures and supports the multiple proprietary trading applications.
Responsibilities:
Support, configure, and troubleshoot multiple proprietary trading applications (running on Linux servers). (Windows knowledge helpful for trader front-end systems.)
Actively improve the performance and availability of our trading applications and the systems they run on.
Drive innovation with multiple specialized technical teams.
Communicate on a daily basis with traders.
Work and problem solve in a fast-paced, innovative, hands-on environment.
Qualifications:
Computer Science degree or similar experience.
Demonstrated Python, Perl, or PowerShell experience.
Previous experience in a Systems Analyst role within the Financial Industry is a plus.
Knowledge of the exchanges and a solid understanding of clearing processes and position management applications.
Experience with SQL Server and SQL query language.
Extensive experience with Linux systems; Red Hat preferred.
Strong communication and problem solving skills.
An understanding of ITIL processes, VMware concepts; C# programming language is preferred.
Experience optimizing, analyzing and supporting mission critical applications.

Job Description
This individual will be participating in defining business requirement, vendor selection, vendor management and all aspects of the project management. This person will also drive effective informal and formal communications with business partners by proactively responding to concerns, displaying an understanding of their business and providing suggestions/solutions by:
Manages relationships with business partners to develop business requirements
Translates business requirements into concise functional specifications
Develop and execute project plan including managing the day to day assignments and status of the technical resources assigned to the project
Creates and executes effective user acceptance test plans, scenarios and scripts
Creates and executes effective operational readiness test plans, scenarios and scripts
Manage SDLC process and the relationship with technical partners such as PMG and Architecture Team

Qualifications:
1 More than 5 years Project Management Experience in Financial Industry
2. Good Knowledge of Credit/Interest Rates/Equity Derivatives products
3. Experience with Derivatives trading platform Murex
4. Solid understanding of SDLC and technical skills in Java, Unix Scriipting, Sybase/SQL Server
5. Excellent written and verbal communication
6. High energy and motivated
7. Experience managing Full time and consultants (onshore & offshore)
