General Summary
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist Trader with documenting daily trading of commodities, data entry into computer to record quantity, cost, delivery and billing information. Provide futures reconciliation and verification of trader’s daily and monthly positions.
- Receive and get billing on all units provide proper information and documentation on rail jacket. Keep merchant advised. Enter all proper expenses and apply to correct lading, keeping the customers credit terms in mind.
- Generate sales invoices and settlement checks on a daily basis. Review and assist in the collection of accounts receivable as needed.
- Provide logistical support for commodity shipments by rail, truck or barge. May include supplying and billing of equipment, tracing rail cars, troubleshooting delivery issues, and payment of freight.
- Provide assistance to customers in resolving commodity, freight, accounting, and other issues. Make sure proper discounts and dockage are taken, also check for liens of farmers and deduct check off.
- Utilize computer programs to maintain purchases, sales, futures, transportation, freight variance and daily position reports. Assemble proper documents and send with a collection letter to the customer to maximize cash flow.
Working Conditions – General office environment (i.e. desk, computer, telephone)
Education – High school degree or equivalent.
