Title: Associate Trader-Fixed Income Location: US-FL-St. Petersburg-Saint Petersburg Other Locations: Job Summary: Under limited supervision, uses specialized knowledge and skills obtained through education and experience to provide marketing and trading support to financial advisors. Guidance is provided to perform varied and complex activities that require some evaluation, originality and ingenuity in making moderately complex decisions. Regular contact with internal and external customers is required to obtain, clarify, or provide facts or information. Resolves questions and problems and refers new or unusual issues to a higher level. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Depending on the level of previous experience and under supervision executes orders, relates bids and offers within established limits for in-house inventories with limited and/or risk-less positioning. * Provides support to traders in inventory maintenance. * Does positioning set up and other administrative duties relating to trade support. * Troubleshoots operational and administrative issues. * Assists in providing marketing and trading support to Financial Advisors. * Answers telephones for quotes, orders and information. * Assists in responding to inquiries from Financial Advisors about the department’s investment philosophies, products and services. * Assists with the dissemination of timely marketing materials for fixed income products and services targeted at financial advisors and investors. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: * Fundamental principles and practices of customer relations, marketing and communications. * Investment concepts, practices and procedures used within Fixed Income * Trading strategies and market characteristics within assigned securities type or sector. * Company’s working structure, policies, mission, and strategies. Skill in: * Operating standard office equipment and using required software including email, graphics, presentation, spreadsheet, database, and project management software. Including HTML and PDF document formatting. * Gathering, compiling and updating information and maintaining distribution lists. * Performing basic research. * Maintaining databases. * Marketing skills and sales ability. * Identifying relationships, draw logical conclusions, and interpret results. * Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers’ commitment to ideas, services, or products. Ability to: * Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels. * Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. * Provide a high level of customer service. * Project a positive, professional image both internal and with external business contacts. * Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. * Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents. Educational/Previous Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Marketing and a minimum of (1) one to (3) three years of experience in the financial services industry. ~or~ Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. Licenses/Certifications: FINRA Series 7 License or the ability to obtain within (90) ninety days of hire date.
