Major Investment Bank in New York City looking for an Equity Trading System Engineer responsible for supporting the Equity Trading & Sales Trading desk. Major responsibilities include: 

Supporting the applications that are used on trading desks. 
Monitoring electronic trading systems and server side software to ensure systems are working correctly. 
Identifying, troubleshooting and responding to emergency situations impacting live trading. 
Working with the traders to understand & implement client connectivity requirements. 
Develop test plans for enhancements & new modules of vendor provided software. Work with users to certify enhancements. 
Deploy upgrades & patches. 
Escalating problems pro-actively and ensure all stakeholders are kept aware of issues and their development. 
Creating and maintaining a knowledge base, support scripts, documentation and procedures. 

Required Qualifications: 
2+ years IT support experience in the Equities Electronic trading environment. 

Must be comfortable using standard UNIX utilities to debug, trace, and problem-solve. 
Very strong troubleshooting, debugging, and analysis skills. 
Knowledge of FIX messaging protocol and be able to conduct client testing. 
Experience with and understanding of databases and SQL. 
VB/Excel/Perl/Bash and/or other scripting experience. 
Understanding of trade and market data feeds. 
Experience working on a trading floor supporting mission critical applications 

Strong educational background with BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering or related area. 
Additional Qualifications: 
•Experience with automated testing tools 
•Experience in FIX, client connectivity and on-boarding clients is a plus
