Innovative, thriving hedge fund located in mid-town Manhattan with a primary focus in media, telecommunications, and technology sectors is seeking an addition to staff as a research coordinator/trading assistant. This individual will support the head trader and 2-3 investment analysts. Ideal candidate will possess a level of professionalism and organization that will meet the needs of the desk.
Job responsibilities include managing day to day tasks calendar management, travel arrangements, phone coverage, correspondence, and updating client and business contacts. Conduct research analysis of quantitative and qualitative data collected from earnings calls, corporate filings, sell side analysts, and road shows and industry events specializing in media, telecommunications, and technology. Utilize research tools including Thomson, FactSet, Bloomberg, and Capital IQ to conduct in depth research of industry developments, products, and services. Help execute trades under the advisement of the head trader. Additional projects on an as needed basis. This individual will also exhibit exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational, and analytical skills while adapting to a fast-paced, changing environment. In addition the ideal candidate will demonstrate a sense of confidentiality, integrity, and trust, while working in a collaborative team environment.
Requirements
Candidates of interest will have a Bachelors Degree with a minimum of 1 year of experience out of equity sales, equity research, trading desk as a junior analyst, or in a support role at a financial services firm. Strong academic (GPA and SAT scores must be listed on the resume) and extra-curricular activities (i.e. sports, collegiate groups, volunteering, and/or arts).
$60,000 – $65,000 plus a generous bonus, benefits include 100% paid benefits, free gym (including trainer), stocked kitchen, and a business casual environment.
