We are looking for former natural gas, crude or electricity traders or schedulers, in energy trading companies or banks. This is a direct client-facing role. The Business Analyst will be working with OpenLink’s customers, consultants, and software engineers to conceptualize, analyze, and design enhancements to OpenLink’s Endur (energy) software system. The primary focus of the Consultant will be to meet the needs of the North American and European natural gas markets. You will assess the natural gas trading marketplace to identify functional gaps. The Consultant will perform cost/benefit analysis to identify enhancements for consideration for existing and potential clients. The Consultant will assist in coordinating and prioritizing development requests concerning the natural gas markets. You will demonstrate to clients how the system functionality can satisfy their business requirements. The Energy Consultant will also help to create test plans for major enhancements to the software, to be used by the QA team for future regression testing.
Requirements
* Excellent interpersonal communications
* Candidate should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant industry experience
* Prior experience working as a natural gas, crude, or electricity trader or scheduler, working for a energy trading company or banks such as: JP Morgan Chase, Barclays, Glencore, RBS Sempra, Cargill, Bear Sterns, Lehman, Koch Energy, Reliant, DTE, PPL, Allegheny, Mirant, or Constellation
* Knowledge of one or more of the following areas: Energy Trading and Risk Management (ETRM), power settlements, ERCOT, NERC, ISO integration, business intelligence, Commodities, Equity, Stocks, natural gas
* Strong math or quantitative background
* Experience in designing a trading/risk management software package
* Experience with related industry software packages
* Consulting experience is a plus, but not required
* Bachelors degree or higher in business, finance, math or computers
* Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. EXCEL, WORD)
* This position requires 50% travel

Functional Overview
The Data Integrity team is responsible for the oversight and accuracy of front office data in trading systems, decision support tools and other front office business applications used for risk measurement. Key functions include front office trader oversight, portfolio attribution P&L, index management, start of business data readiness, analytics oversight, and data issue resolution.
Responsibilities
A member of the Fixed Income Middle Office – Data Integrity person is responsible for:
§ Partner closely with Front Office to deliver reporting and develop solutions for data issues
§ Analyze security and portfolio level analytics exceptions and report to the Front Office
§ Understanding and establishing data oversight processes around decision support risk tools
§ Understanding and establishing operational support processes for new products and new EMD markets
§ Assist with inter system mappings and interpreting data
§ Work with various Middle and Back Office operations to resolve issues
§ Track and report data quality metrics
Requirements Qualifications / Skill Set
§ Strong financial product knowledge of fixed income and derivatives
§ Decision support risk tools, trade execution and compliance engine testing experience
§ External vendor tools like Point, Yieldbook, and Bloomberg experience a plus
§ Ability to identify inefficiencies in a process and drive change
§ Self motivated individual with ability to identify issues and escalate when necessary
§ Ability to lead relationship with senior portfolio managers and traders
§ Strong communication and interpersonal skills
§ Strong Excel skills
