The position is based in Knoxville, Tennessee. This position is fast paced and is responsible for providing price information throughout Alcoa as it relates to metals, energy, and regional premiums. The primary goal of this position is to help minimize profit/loss risks associated with commodity price volatility. The Metal Trader will have a leadership role in working with Alcoa business units and dealing with Alcoa counterparties. Key responsibilities include:* Analyze exposure information and develop trading strategies for Alcoa’s senior management to assist in the implementation and execution in the external marketplace.* Ensure audit preparedness and readiness with regards to Sarbanes Oxley and internal audit requirements.* Teach new traders internal risk management policies and procedures and how to trade metals and other commodities on the various exchanges.* Collect and identify price exposures from various operating locations, maintain integrity of this data and ensure that accurate financial results are delivered to the locations based on their pricing activity.* Collect, analyze and provide key market technical and fundamental data, as well as competitive intelligence information to internal customers and all levels of management.* Provide guidance related to pricing matters, both specific instances and overall price risk management, to various individuals in the purchasing, selling and managing functions of the business.* Creative thinking with ability to design trading and analysis models as required.

Requirements * Bachelor’s Degree from a 4 year college or university in business, finance or related field* 5 years of business experience in a financial capacity* Exceptional Excel skills capable of developing complex models* Solid analytical skills and a self-directed work style* Ability to perform analysis as presented to the trading desk by management and the various business units* Culturally adept and globally-focused, with the ability to bridge communication gaps easily* Advanced user of Microsoft PowerPoint, with the ability to develop and format presentations

Preferred Qualifications* Working experience with the various exchange functions and a clear understanding of the types of options available to Alcoa* Understanding of the impact of currency exchange rates, credit terms and arbitrage opportunities* Working knowledge of Visual Basic for Applications; ability to write macros* MBA
