The Desktop Support Analyst should have a solid background in providing hardware and software support to broker-centric workstations and applications.     Required Skills: Certifications and Technology Requirements:
    ? Associates Degree in Science, related field or equivalent experience
    ? 3+ years IT Desktop Support experience providing support to traders/brokers
    ? Experience with Bloomberg is a must.
    ? Strong knowledge of Windows 2007, 2003,Windows XP, Active Directory, Microsoft Office Suite, Blackberry.
    ? Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, Technology, Exchange / Outlook Email applications
    ? Knowledge and experience with Antivirus, Spyware and Firewall applications
    ? Knowledge of Citrix Metaframe, Dameware Utilities, Altiris or other remote assist applications

    Job Description:

    This position has primary responsibility for monitoring and support of trading system applications and exchanges including issue resolution, tracking and status reporting. Position will solve complex problems that require both technical and business understanding. The candidate will work with traders, back-office, exchanges, and developers to investigate and solve system issues and participate in business analysis.
    Duties and Responsibilities
    – Provide trading application support to traders and quantitative developers in our Chicago and NY offices
    – Work collaboratively with traders and other IT staff to implement new tools and strategies
    – Identify, troubleshoot and respond to emergency situations and outages that impact the production trading environment
    – Research latent orders and liaise with trading exchanges and venues
    – Perform active monitoring and respond to alerts within technology environment; escalate issues to appropriate IT staff if necessary
    – Cooperate with System Administrators to assist with forecasting system utilization
    – Manage applications including Trading Technologies and proprietary applications
    – Participate in change control procedures for rollout from development to production
    – Troubleshoot and resolve Windows desktop problems
    – Manage work orders including incident resolution process and client communications
    – Develop and maintain systems documentation
    – Work collaboratively with other team members and departments to achieve firm goals
    – Shared responsibility with other team members for covering 6am to 4pm trading day
    – Provide support off-hours and remotely when needed

    Requirements

    Experience
    – A minimum of 2-3 years experience supporting proprietary and third party trading applications is required
    – Experience supporting XTrader from Trading Technologies is preferred
    – A minimum of 2-3 years experience with Windows desktop administration is required
    – Experience with Linux client (ex. fedora) and file utilities (less, diff, grep, tail) is preferred
    – Experience with Perl, shell scripting, or another programming language is preferred
    – Demonstrated ability configuring, monitoring and troubleshooting software is required

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
    – Strong self motivation and initiative
    – Proven customer focus is essential
    – Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
    – Proven ability to manage multiple ongoing projects simultaneously
    – Understanding of futures trading industry
    – Microsoft Excel and other Office applications, including formulas, macros, and real-time feeds
    – Working knowledge of TCP/IP and network connectivity troubleshooting
    – Strong verbal and written communication skills
    – Excellent documentation and knowledge management skills

    Education/Certifications
    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is required.
