Crude Prices Mixed amidst Uncertainty of Geopolitical Tensions
PearlYagatebCrude oil prices were mixed with the WTI contract softening modestly while Brent crude gaining during the day. Production in Libya remained worrisome as the western oil fields remained shut a week after the Government indicated that protests had ended. Although Russia stated that its military forces had been ordered to withdraw from Ukraine's border, EU nations remained cautious and a draft statement from the European Commission suggested that stress test should be done to assess the the impact of a loss of Russian energy supplies.
