Title: Desk Analyst, Fixed Income Location: US-FL-St. Petersburg-Saint Petersburg Other Locations: US-TN-Memphis-Memphis, US-PA-Pittsburgh-Pittsburg, US-NC-Charlotte-Charlotte, US-NY-New York-New York City Job Summary: Partners with traders, analysts and salespeople to facilitate and research trade opportunities. Creates research write-ups in support of the trading desk. Creates product line reports for distribution to facilitate and research trade opportunities. Performs studies of industry groups and specific analysis of individual companies, asset classes and securities. Identifies, researches and analyzes complex issues. Will play a key role in partnering with IT to ensure that workflows, product lines and data sources are developed and documented for pending system integration. Works independently on assignments that are broad in nature requiring originality and ingenuity with appreciable latitude for unreviewed actions or decisions. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Reconcile information between data sources and systems to ensure accuracy and compatibility. * Research data sources, as needed, to improve, replace and supplement product development. * Create files and processes to forecast in various systems (Intex, Bloomberg, etc.). * Track/organize issues and needs pertaining to the system, database and product lines received from traders, analysts and salespeople. * Work to distribute information across the various delivery platforms (eFolio, Intex, Bloomberg, etc.). * Update workbooks/eFolio etc. as needed. * Conducts quantitative and qualitative analyses studies of industry groups or asset classes and specific analysis of individual companies or securities. * Provides informative, written reports for timely publication and distribution to sales people, traders and accounts. * Recommends the purchase, sale, or holding of securities to institutional clients through written analysis reports. * May also provide support to the retail branch network and/or Corporate Finance department. * Evaluates and reports on key financial trends and ratios for users. * Maintains database of current financial data on selected bond-issuers or asset classes. * Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. This position may be based in the following locations: St. Petersburg, FL, Memphis, TN, Charlotte, NC, Pittsburg, PA. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of: * Fundamental concepts in security analysis. * Advanced concepts, practices, and procedures of Fixed Income. * Principles of banking and finance and securities industry operations. * Financial markets and products. Skill in: * Advanced math and analytics sufficient for quantitative and analytical analysis to assist in the development of financial projections and valuation metrics. * Advanced writing skills for publication of written reports. * Identifying relationships, draw logical conclusions, and interpret results. * Using technical/professional knowledge, interpersonal and sales skills to obtain customers’ commitment to ideas, services, or products. * Operating standard office equipment and using required software application to produce correspondence, reports, electronic communication, and spreadsheets. Ability to: * Interpret, analyze and explain various asset classes and structures * Organize, manage, and track multiple detailed tasks and assignments with critical deadlines in a fast-paced work environment. * Use appropriate interpersonal styles and communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing with all organizational levels. * Attend to detail while maintaining a macro orientation. * Interpret and apply policies and identify and recommend changes as appropriate. * Work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment. * Establish and maintain effective working relationships at all levels of the organization; including negotiating resources. * Project a positive, professional image both internal and with external business contacts. * Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents. Educational/Previous Experience Recommendations: Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) in Finance, Accounting or Business and a minimum of one (1) year of experience in the financial services industry. ~or~ Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources. Licenses/Certifications: NASD Series 7 and Series 63 and the ability to obtain other NASD Licenses (as required) within three months of hire date.
